ISHINOMAKI MANGA MUSEUM

This UFO shaped museum celebrates the legacy of Shotaro Ishinomori, a influential manga artist who authored classics like Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009. Ishinomori grew up in the neighboring city of Tome, and often visited Ishinomaki to watch movies.

Inside the museum are life sized statues of characters in Ishinomori's works, as well as screenings of original animations and other displays that bring his work to life. The museum often collaborates with other artists to set up special limited time displays. Currently on display is a collection of manuscripts, statues and more from Hajime no Ippo. Come check it out!
